im a citizen of buguey, but i’ve never been there for almost 4 years. i graduted at northeastern academy. since i graduated i’ve never go back to buguey because some of my fruends told me that there was no changes since we graduated.. is there any changes in municipality of bvuguey after 4 years?

I was born in buguey but not in the town center where most of the corrupt officials are from. My cousins and I and the entire barangay residents are only concerned about turning our place into a little progressive township now and try to dissociate ourselves from the town itself cause the town is really simply a mess. i leave in buguey as well but i haven’t been there for 12 years now, i heard that we got new elected mayor but the vice mayor is antiporda, the people in buguey has no progress as long as the antiporda are in the position of the goverment, wake up bugueyanos kick out antiporda, its time for us to move on, help our new mayor…. i want to visit my hometown hopefully when i got home in the philippines soon…. keep going to buguey its a simple town with a loving and caring people….

LOT OF CHANGE??? HMMMMMMMMMMM 15 years ago . . . . El Presidente beach was established during the term of Mayor Licerio “Boy” Antiporda in 1989-1998, The town center or the new public market, new town hall with that tegula roof and of course the repair and construction of a conference hall in the busiest beach, EL presidente during the term of Mayor Lloyd Antiporda, and the road improvements as well, but who could ever forget, The Licerio Antiporda Sr National Highschool which was the baby then of Mayor Boy and now two branches, one in Brgy Sta isabel and another in Brgy Dalaya, , , how could i possibly forget FYI the new mayor was just installed in 7 months , , , , , ALL I HEARD OVER BOMBO RADIO IS HE KICKED A YOUTH LEADER (Represents the youth in the Municipal Council) FOR DISOBEYING HIM . . . . . . . . oh well CIAO!

God bless you all! It is just so sad to read all these negative comments…. Anywhere you go, Philippines or United States, there are corruptions every where. Please don’t be blaming it to the Antiporda’s especially the late Licerio Antiporda Sr. If you guys don’t really know this person, you better shut your mouth or try to check what you are going to write. The Antiporda Senior was not only a great Mayor but the greatest grandpa of all. The crowd that attended his burial would probably tell you what kind of person he was. I am not in the politics and i never like politics. But is just so happened that i am one of the late Licerio Antiporda Sr’s grandchild. And it hurts me that you guys are dragging his name in here. FOR VISITOR2, Licerio “Boy” ANTIPORDA Jr. has a degree in AB Pol Science from FEU, he finished his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Manila.
LLOYD graduated from UST with a degree in Business Admin, he also finished his Bachelor of Laws at University of the East. He was about to take his Bar Exams in 1998 but he ran for Mayor instead and his dream of becoming a lawyer took its backseat coz he chose to serve buguey first.
Licerio “CERRY” III who is the Vice Mayor of Buguey now, finished his Political Science Course at St. Claire College, he was enrolled in UST before but had to stop schooling there as he became a public servant at such a young age and chose to stayfoot in buguey. He is presently a JUNIOR LAW PROPER STUDENT.
I hope this settles ur out of topic question visitor2. The ANTIPORDAs are degree holders.. but then in reality this was never an issue. The willingness to serve and love your town and people is the true essence of a great leader and public servant.

I am proud to be a bugueyano. I was born and raised in Buguey, Cagayan. Living a simple life in a simple town that has all the promising treasure that a good natured town must have. You would not taste hunger nor poverty if you are just not lazy. This is not to give praise to all the ANTIPORDAS that have served and still serving Buguey, But, We all the bugueyanos should at least thank this wonderful clan, for they served our beloved Buguey with dignified truth and wholeheartedly. 45 years of my life, I have witnessed the progress and changes in this beloved town of mine. I haven’t seen any person that was so loved by his kababayan other than the late manong Licerio “Ceriong” Antiporda Sr.. Back then, I was thinking that if I will choose a president for this country, I would proudly vote for him. His the man of the people, for the people and by the people. You would be so proud to be a bugueyano because of this man. As years passed, I have never doubted the Antipordas ability to govern and serve the people. TO Jandro, Jett, Net and to that schmuck VISITOR 2, Know where you came from and if you do, ask your parents or in Ilokano daggiti nagganak kinya-yo. Ask them, if they are even a true blue bugueyano and if they are, ask them how did they live as a bugueyano and if they are not, ask them to look at themselves in the mirror first before judging any of these well respected Antipordas. As for the issues in this forum said againts the Antipordas, Corruption and so forth. I would challenge anyone or anybody to prove any of these non-sense accusations. To all the bloggers that will say and may say any of these negative comments to the ANTIPORDAS, ask yourselves, have you ever done anything merely anything for your beloved buguey. If none, then you don’t have the right to brag of yourself being a bugueyano. My parents and my uncles used to host lunches for Lelong Ceriong and his staffs during fiestas in our little barrio back in the early 70’s. Cielo and I were friends if you guys remember her.
OK maybe the old man was good and well-loved by the people but I don’t think the same can be said of the junior. If I remember well, the fish wharf was built during the administration of Arriola in the late 70’s to the early 80’s. It was also during his term that the market was improved and the municipio had a facelift. Boy Antiporda took the helm and…………..

Thank you Seaciel for saying your impression on Buguey. It is very heartwarming! As for the negative comments on the past leadership of Buguey, its understandable, in every place or town there are critics.
Buguey has been consistently promoted as a tourist destination for foreigners and locals, our apologies for the modest accomodation El Presidente has to offer. The next time you may be able to visit Buguey try riding a boat going to the mouth of the Buguey Lagoon or taking a ride along the beach going to the east to see where the Babuyan Channel meets the Buguey Lagoon. It is best before the sun rises or at sunset. Or you may want to eat lunch on a big boat during summertime in the middle of the Babuyan Channel where you will be served very fresh catch of fishes and squids.

Hello to all! in our humble sitio of nanabbangan, the only place south of buguey lagoon whose mother barangay mala weste is north of the lagoon. before our sitio can only be reached thru a boat or banca and we have no electricity. today there is now a road going to our sitio and we have already been energized by cagelco 2, we now have cold water to drink and our children can now study late at night. the road was completed in 1998 and we had electricity sometime in 2000. all of these were made possible because mayor antiporda cares for his constituents.

Malinis naman po ang El Presidente Beach Resort. Kahit nga pag-aari pala ng gobyerno inaayos pa rin. Thank you sa inyo mga staff ng beach house we had a wonderful stay there last Maundy Thursday up to Good Friday. Napakarami pong mga tao. Sana lang may stock kayong alimango at hipon diyan.

You are so right…who the heck wakes up at 0430 hours and go to the Plaza to fight for Shrimps. Lobsters and Crabs if you are on vacation? NO WAY. We can refrigerate those items or freeze it and its still going to be fresh for 24 hours if one has a modern Refrigerator. I know because my Mama gives it to me for dinner when i go home that way.
We hope that on your next years visit we can better serve you I shall relay this to them on my vacation also.
I wish all success for Buguey. We can all do our part to make it a more peaceful and cleaner place.
REMEMBER…FOLKS WHO THINKS THEY ARE ALL NOW RICH AND NO LONGER LIVES IN BUGUEY…NEVER FORGET WHERE YOU CAME FROM. MAY GOD BLESS US ALL.
